There are many foods that are said to have zero calories and therefore seem like a perfect choice for weight loss. But are these foods really zero calories? No way. The following is a list of five common foods that claim to be zero calories, which is not the case.
2:Cinnamon
Cinnamon doesn't just add flavour to your cake but gives a fantastic flavour to your daily curries. It a healthy way to sweeten your coffee and also good for your health. One teaspoon of cinnamon contains around six calories. Cinnamon helps in controlling blood sugar. The spice is worth the calories.
3:Gum without sugar
We are often fooled by the sugar-free label. Sugar doesn't mean calorie-free. One sugar-free gum has around five calories. And chewing gums are very easily over consumed when you busy with something else. So, do not just keep eating one after the other.
4:Diet soft drink
You must have seen the calorie-free claims on the diet soda can because it contains artificial sweeteners, gel and fibre that aren't absorbed by the intestinal tract. The problem with the artificial sweeteners is that they confuse the brain in terms of sweetness detection, insulin signals and hunger/satiety signals. In fact, studies show that people who drink a lot of diet soda are actually the ones who gain more weight.
